The group known as “Write-On!” is a brave little band of wordsmiths that meets monthly, on the second Wednesday, in the morning. Meetings are brief; no unnecessary adjectives or adverbs are permitted. It’s an opportunity to share a piece of writing, a poem or short story or part of a developing novel or memoir. Opinion pieces are welcome and often entertaining. Currently the group is eclectic with a smattering of verse, graphic art and historical fiction, plus one intrepid mystery writer. New members are encouraged.

Help us to learn something new
Or vent about what makes you stew.
Make us laugh or spit nails or just sigh
Make us think, make us squirm, make us cry.

Whether it’s fact or it’s fiction
If you have a strong predilection
To scribble all night with the light-on
